I don't like using a template. I don't like correcting spelling. I don't like correcting grammar. I don't want to be your editor. I enjoy discussing what I have read. I am very happy to tell people what I have liked and what I have disliked. There is not a lot that I dislike.

I enjoy reviewing and try to be as honest as possible. I look for specific things such as technical merit, flow and lyrical quality in poems, creativity, tone, and mood. Though I can be a tough critic, I strive to encourage writers to grow and challenge themselves. I feel that it is through constructive criticism that we grow as writers. I strive to give the writer feedback on the overall impact of the piece. I am the host and judge of the "Shadows and Light Poetry Contest and co-host of the "Roots & Wings Contest

My reviewing style varies. I may do a little edit if possible or pinpoint what I think is incorrect. My review is merely base on what I feel about your piece. If I enjoy it, I say it. If not, I tell you why I'm not. I often do reviews on all Poetry Items- regardless of the genres, styles and the way it was written. However if you like, you can request a short story, chapter not the entire book or novel, articles and essays, etc. 2023 Quill Nominee

I like to be analytical in my reviewing. The most interesting pieces of writing often work on a number of different levels, and so I try to consider multiple perspectives when informing the author of what I liked or disliked about their piece. For this reason, I don't get along very well with templates, as I find they turn the whole process into something very clinical! You can expect my reviews to be a fluid, tailored discussion of your individual work.

I majorly review poems or short stories. Poems can be of any type. Short stories should be less than 600 words or approx. Novel and books are not in my reviewing list. I am not an expert reviewer but I'll try to tell your weak and strong points. In a polite but honest tone, I will tell your errors, if present. I will comment on the title, flow, main writing and will also provide you with an overall review. My ratings will not be biased. You can tell me at which points you want the deeper analysis. If you want me to review, you can give it a try. You can check some of my request reviews - Review of "Attack of the blobwoman " Review of "Not Past Redemption" Review of "Wanting to give up" Review of "Wrong timing in Manchester" and there are many more...

Unsentimental. I focus on the kinds of craft issues that will keep a writer from being taken seriously and prevent them from fully expressing their vision. For more information, see "Writing Hurts: Review Forum

My style is varied for the most part meaning that sometimes I feel it necessary to comment on grammar and other times the flow of the story as an example. I will always try to be sensitive of your feelings for I know that writing is hard and personnel but even though this is true I still want to be as helpful as I can.

I'm picky when it comes to review, or shall I say not just how I review, but what I choose to review in the first place. I will make an attempt at anything if you really want me to, but there are exceptions. If something is so riddled with errors that a spell checker or basic grammar checker would find, I have a hard time reading through it. And if I can't get through it, I can't give you a good review. If I comment on grammar at all, it usually means I've identified a pattern of repeated errors, and I think I can help you fix them. That said, I look mainly for Content, Theme, Style, Continuity, Passion -- NOT line editing or grammar checking. In addition to the above, I tend to comment on what I think is missing, what can be improved, or something that I really like and want to see you keep doing it.
