In response to "Getting Started and Introspection - Quotes
These are two great, thoughtful entries, Carly. I like your thoughts on the different ways of enjoying an experience. First you live the experience, but in my experience it doesn’t seem real at the time, it’s only afterwards your mind lets you see it like a film or movie. I’ve never bungle-jumped for instance but have done other adventurous things, but I can imagine seeing myself doing it from another’s perspective,
As for the second quote, one wonders why we’re so fearful sometimes. I lways ask myself “what’s the worst that can happen?” I probably won’t die, I may get derided or laughed at, but that’s not my problem and shame on anyone who would do such a thing. Anyway as get older we get braver. And that’s true.

schunujo I don't worry about NaNo or OctoPrep. I think that event is far enough in the future. I am bummed that I cannot garden this year. I've been typing and writing all this time with just one hand and three fingers so...

I am excited to get the pain level lessened. Then I found out from my daughter the other day that she suffers from carpal tunnel as well, but as is typical for her, she won't get it treated. The problem with that syndrome is if it gets too severe, you could actually lose total function of your hand. Now that is the worst case scenario of course. I am scared enough by that prospect, I'll endure a few more months of recovery pain to heal the problem.

Kåre Enga in Udon Thani When are you arriving back in Montana? And which airport? I'll be tied up for a few days after surgery. But I think once my husband goes back east to get our car, perhaps sometime in May we pray, I could make a road trip.

Those experiences that are painful unfortunately haunt you and often are the best fodder for writing.
I love the quote too because it reminds me that second time is the best.

When I think of this quote a blank page comes to mind. I fear not being able to write more than most in the moment things but my life is quite sheltered now. In the past, I would have been more like your entry. I lived in fear all the time.

It's so good to see your entry today. As always, very thoughtful entry.

it illustrates why it's important to have people from different backgrounds, with different worldviews, working on scientific research.

This right here is why I get rather irritated by people poo-pooing college these days. I feel like that attitude effectively shits on minority populations that may not have strong finances but do possess persistent curiosity and want to learn about various subjects in-depth. In the 90s, these groups were exclusively told to go to trade schools even if they had the aptitude for college education. Nowadays the blanket "Everyone should consider a trade" mantra employs a more subtle (but still abundant) form of discrimination. I'm so over it.

Ah, sorry about the date/time complications at the Dew Drop! The poems are welcome at any time!

Love this wonderful sound poem! And the coincidence that this morning I wrote a kissing poem, and now I find a kiss in your hiss poem!!

That’s wonderful & I love the way your poem explores language, & how “go-to” figures of speech, like water roaring, might not always work. Love this poem.

I love the exploration of roaring and the way you show the differences in water's sound, although I have to admit that at Niagara, I thought it sounded as hungry and angry as any tiger.
